I like hacking. My students like hacking. Hacking is fun. However when you want to teach hacking, vulnerability assessment, pen testing or similar topics, you will face some issues.
This talk discusses the opposition faced when creating units such as these, how these can be overcome and the eventual follow on issues of actually delivering the material at the end of the day.
Peter Hannay is a PhD student, researcher and lecturer based at Edith Cowan University in Perth Western Australia. His PhD research is focused on the acquisition and analysis of data from small and embedded devices.
In addition to this he is involved in smart grid research and other projects under the banner of the SECAU research organisation.
